Over the weekend in Simferopol, 13 drivers who allowed themselves to drive “drunk” became pedestrians
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Simferopol, over the weekend, State Traffic Inspectorate officers suspended 13 drunk drivers from driving.
During the “Drunk Driver” preventive measure, 13 facts of driving while intoxicated were identified, and, thus, possible incidents involving drunk drivers were prevented— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
Traffic police inspectors used the “mass inspection” method, the essence of which is to check the maximum number of drivers on a specific section of the road within a certain period of time. Such raids are carried out in order to reduce the accident rate and prevent accidents involving drivers who are intoxicated.
The State Traffic Inspectorate of Crimea reminds that driving a vehicle while intoxicated entails an administrative penalty — a fine of 30,000 rubles, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of one and a half to two years; if an administrative offense is repeated within a year, criminal liability arises according to Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The traffic police welcomes disciplined drivers and encourages them to drive only when sober.
