Including the volume of lending to small and medium-sized businesses in annual terms increased by more than 1.5 times and amounted to almost 102 billion rubles. Banks provided financing in the amount of 104.2 billion rubles to large corporate clients. This is 22% higher than in 2022.
The growth in lending to Crimean businesses is mainly due to high demand from SMEs. In 2023, this category of borrowers accounted for almost half of all issued corporate loans. The great interest in such loans is largely due to the effect of preferential lending programs,” commented the head of the Bank of Russia Branch for the Republic of Crimea, Igor Tsvetkov, commenting on the situation. – In the sectoral structure of the region’s corporate loan portfolio, the first positions are still occupied by trade, transport and communications. At the beginning of the year, these industries accounted for more than 40% of loans issued to businesses.
The total volume of obligations of Crimean companies and entrepreneurs to banks over the year increased by 33.4% and at the beginning of 2024 amounted to almost 163 billion rubles. The liabilities of small and medium-sized businesses to banks reached 79.5 billion rubles, increasing over the year by more than 1.8 times.
