Over two days of Operation Drunk Driver in Crimea — over a hundred drunk drivers

From May 24 to May 26, 2024, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Republic of Crimea conducted an operational and preventive event under the code name “Drunk Driver.” The raids were carried out in order to reduce the accident rate and prevent accidents involving drivers who are intoxicated.

According to the traffic police, during the investigation, 101 cases of driving while intoxicated or refusing a medical examination were suppressed.

16 drivers were detained for driving a vehicle with signs of intoxication again, for which criminal liability is provided in accordance with Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to two years. If you drive while intoxicated again, the vehicle is subject to mandatory confiscation. All cars were confiscated and placed in a special parking lot.,” the traffic police clarified.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds that driving a vehicle while intoxicated entails an administrative penalty — a fine in the amount of 30,000 rubles, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of one and a half to two years; if this administrative offense is repeated within a year, criminal liability arises according to Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
