Painters from different countries held a plein air in Chersonese Tauride

The other day, the International Creative Plein Air “Abris” took place at the museum-reserve. Sevastopol — spring 2024”, organized by the International Alliance of Strategic Projects BRICS, the Union of Artists of Russia and the Creative Union of Artists of Sevastopol. More than twenty painters from different regions of our country and other countries came to capture Tauride Chersonesos on their canvases. Among the participants in the plein air were academicians of the Russian Academy of Arts, folk and honored artists of the Russian Federation.
The museum-reserve with its holy places and historical sights, the gentle and stormy sea, the romance of ancient and medieval buildings often attracts the attention of painters. Today they were able to depict the play of light and shadow on canvas, write fascinating sketches of Tauride Chersonesus, and convey the splendor of its monuments and surrounding nature.
Among the participants in the plein air were Pyotr Timofeevich Stronsky (academician of the Russian Academy of Arts (RAA), People’s Artist of Russia, President of the International Academy of Culture and Art), Anton Vyacheslavovich Stekolshchikov (academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Honored and People’s Artist of Russia), Yuri Khadzhimuratovich Abisalov (Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Honored artist of Russia) and others.
We are sure that the artists had a lot of fun working plein air in the city of two thousand years! You can see their paintings, inspired by the romance of Chersonese Tauride, at the final exhibition, which will open on April 13 at 16:00 at the Sevastopol Center for Culture and Arts.
Let us remind you that the International Creative Plein Air “Outline. Sevastopol — Spring 2024”, organized by the International Alliance of Strategic Projects BRICS, takes place in the hero city from April 1 to 14. For two weeks, artists from different regions of Russia and other countries have been painting the most picturesque corners of Chersonesus and Sevastopol.
