Paralympian Yaroslav Svyatoslavsky, participant of the ultra-triathlon «Impulse», arrived in Kerch

The total distance of the ultratriathlon is 845 kilometers. The athlete started on August 9 from the federal territory «Sirius» in Sochi and will finish his journey in the village of Opolznevoe, having covered 5 km by swimming, the rest of the distance — on a hand bike and a sports running wheelchair through the Crimean Bridge, Kerch, Simferopol, Chersonesos Taurica. The event is held in support of research into spinal cord injuries and diseases and the development of neurotechnology.
Sergey Aksyonov noted that at each stage the marathon runner is supported by athletes, representatives of public and children’s organizations, participants of the SVO, and the «Defenders of the Fatherland» foundation.
At the age of 16, Yaroslav suffered a spinal cord injury during training. Despite this, he returned to sports, leads an active and fulfilling lifestyle, thereby inspiring many people and encouraging them to achieve goals despite the circumstances. Together with a team of engineers, he is engaged in research in the field of neuroprosthetics– notes the Head of Crimea.
Sergei Aksyonov added that Yaroslav Svyatoslavsky acted as a trusted person for the candidate for President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin during the presidential elections in March of this year.
The Paralympian shows us all by his personal example what true strength of spirit and the will to win mean, the Head of the Republic emphasizes.
