Parents of more than 6.5 thousand children under the age of 17 receive a single allowance in Sevastopol

CrimeaPRESS reports:

For 2 months since the entry into force of the law on a single allowance, the Social Fund transferred over 85.5 million rubles to Sevastopol families for 6,582 children, as well as 279 pregnant women.

Recall that the single allowance replaced a number of previously existing support measures for needy families: two monthly payments for the first and second child under 3 years old, a monthly payment in connection with the birth of the third and subsequent children, monthly payments for children from 3 to 7 years old and children from 8 to 17 years and monthly allowance for pregnant women. For a gradual transition to a single allowance, families continue to receive all the payments listed until the expiration of the period for which they are established. Parents, however, can switch to a single allowance at any time. For example, parents of children under 3 years old, born before January 1, 2023, can choose to receive old payments until the child’s 3rd birthday or switch to a single allowance, but for children born since 2023, benefits are issued only according to the new rules— noted in the press service of the fund.

With the introduction of a single allowance, the possibilities of maternity capital have also expanded. Now families can make a monthly payment from it not only for the second child, as it was before 2023, but also for the first, third or any other — until the child reaches the age of 3 years. Moreover, a family can simultaneously receive both a single allowance and a payment from maternity (family) capital for the same children.

Important! To apply for a single allowance, the children for whom this allowance is assigned, and the parent (adoptive parent, guardian (curator)) of the child (children) submitting the application, must be citizens of the Russian Federation and permanently reside in the territory of the Russian Federation. When assigning a payment, a comprehensive assessment of the income and property of the family is applied, and the employment of parents or objective reasons for its absence is also taken into account.
