Parish Museum «Christian Simferopol» opened in the Crimean capital

Today in the Crimean capital, in the premises of the ancient storage of the All Saints Church (located in the old city cemetery), the parish museum «Christian Simferopol» was opened.
The museum acquaints visitors with the history of not only Orthodoxy in the capital of Crimea, but also other Christian denominations.
The basic exposition, which presents the vestments of the three-level hierarchy of the Orthodox Church — the bishop, priest and deacon, ancient icons, liturgical vessels and books, church utensils of the 18th-20th centuries, and other sacred objects are mainly taken from the funds of the temple’s ancient repository, which will be opened next year. turns 160 years old. The museum was organized by the parish community, with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
An interesting fact: throughout its history (since 1864, the Simferopol Church of All Saints is the only one in Crimea that has not been abolished or closed. Over more than a century and a half of history, many unique exhibits have accumulated here. For example, the exposition presents the antimension of the Church of All Saints, signed by Saint Luke of Crimea in 1947.
With the direct participation of Archpriest Alexei Astapov, a cleric of the Simferopol Cathedral of the Peter and Paul Cathedral, a senior teacher at the Tauride Theological Seminary, information stands were prepared on the territory of the Church of All Saints, telling about the history of the temple and the Ruling Bishops of the Tauride Land, as well as introducing maps of Christian cemeteries of the capital of Crimea and burials in the large and small necropolis of the All Saints Churchthe organizers said.
The rector of the Simferopol Church of All Saints, Candidate of Theology, Archpriest Vladimir Kashlyuk noted that the work on creating the museum has just begun, and a lot of work and diligence must be applied to further expand the exposition, which will be of interest not only to the parishioners of the temple, but also to pilgrims.
