From November 8 to December 23, the Academy of Creative Industries «Meganom» (project «Tavrida.ART») will host an educational program on creating the interior decoration of a church-chapel. Artists, icon painters, restorers, mosaicists and muralists are invited to participate in the program. Registration is open until November 7 at website art cluster «Tavrida» and in the application «Meganome» in VK.
During the educational program, participants will work out and begin to implement a project for the interior decoration of the church-chapel in the name of St. Great Martyr George the Victorious, construction of which is already underway in Kapsel Bay in Crimea. Together with experts, students will go through the key stages of building a temple, and will also perform the following work: creating murals, painting icons for the iconostasis, and working out the decorative elements of the temple decoration. In addition, the lecture program on the history of icon painting and Orthodoxy in Russia will include meetings with prominent representatives of church monumental art, where they will share their professional experience. Participants will also travel to the holy places of Crimea.
The educational process is divided into three modules: November 8–25; November 27 – December 9; December 11–23.
Registration for the second and third modules is open until November 7 at website art cluster «Tavrida» and in the application «Meganome» in VK.
The curator of the program is Maria-Nicole Selivanova, head of the Tavrida art park, artist-restorer of easel and monumental painting.
Temple-chapel in the name of St. The Great Martyr George the Victorious in Kapsel Bay is the first experience of the Tavrida art cluster in the construction of religious buildings. The investment project is being implemented by philanthropist and temple builder Alexei Kakhidze with the support of Tavrida and the Synodal Department for Youth Affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church. Completion of the first stage of construction is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024. In the future, when investment proposals are received, cultural objects of other Russian religions may appear on the territory of the art cluster.
The Meganom Academy of Creative Industries is a conceptually new educational environment for young representatives of culture, art and creative industries, the core of the Tavrida art cluster (a project of Rosmolodezh). The year-round educational center allows specialists to expand their knowledge and professional competencies under the supervision of recognized leaders in the field and take part in interactive projects prepared in collaboration with leading institutions and corporate partners.
