Sevastopol employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, who carried out mine clearance in Donbass, are greeted in their native land with bread and salt, patriotic songs and warm hugs. The pyrotechnicians of the department returned home — participants of the second business trip in 2023 to the zone of the special military operation.
Of our employees, seven people were involved in the performance of these tasks as part of the combined detachment. Everyone is alive and well, returned without loss, — quotes the press service of the colonel of the internal service of the head of the Specialized Detachment of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the city of Sevastopol Nikolai Tiselsky.
Behind them are 60 days of difficult, painstaking and dangerous work in the Donetsk People’s Republic. In the conditions of sweltering summer heat — and the temperature rose above 40 degrees — in heavy equipment, sappers meter by meter checked agricultural land, energy and transport infrastructure facilities, and eliminated minefields. In total, in 2023, in the Donbass, a combined detachment of the Russian Emergencies Ministry examined 150 hectares of territories mechanically and 151 hectares manually. As a result, more than 6,000 explosive items were found and defused. Tired but inspired by a sense of accomplishment, employees share their emotions.
At the moment when you enter the minefield, you try not to think about feelings — you think only about the tasks set. And now everything pleases here — to the last bush, to the last tree! Here, even the birds sing in a completely different way, because this is Sevastopol, this is their native land, it cannot be otherwise! Now the first thing to do is to hug your wife and children as soon as possible!, — says the lieutenant of the internal service, the head of the pyrotechnic work department of the pyrotechnic and special diving work of the Specialized Detachment of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the city of Sevastopol Alexei Gurko.
Representatives of the Specialized Detachment of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the city of Sevastopol, the Center for Rescue Operations of Special Risk «Leader», the Donskoy and Noginsk Rescue Centers invariably work as part of the consolidated detachment. The mission to clear Donbas lands continues. Already, another consolidated grouping of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which included Sevastopol residents, has already taken over from colleagues.
