Penalties for non-payment of housing and communal services canceled for members of the SVO and their families

On June 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed Law No. 229-FZ “On Amending Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation”, according to which the accrual of penalties for non-payment of housing and communal services during a special military operation to its participants, as well as their families, is canceled.
Earlier, the State Council of the Republic of Crimea supported the amendments to the current legislation introduced by the State Duma Committee on Defense, presenting them at the sites of the South Russian Parliamentary Association and the Commission of the Council of Legislators on the integration of new constituent entities of the Russian Federation into the legal system of the Russian Federation, headed by the head of the Crimean Parliament Vladimir Konstantinov.
As Sergei Trofimov, chairman of the Committee on Legislation of the Crimean Parliament, noted, “the federal law signed by the head of state specifies that citizens participating in a special military operation, called up for military service by mobilization, undergoing military service under a contract, including in the troops of the National Guard of the Russian Federation , in the military formations and bodies specified in paragraph 6 of Article 1 of the Federal Law «On Defense», which have concluded a contract on voluntary assistance in the fulfillment of the tasks assigned to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, performing (performing) the tasks of repelling an armed intrusion into the territory of the Russian Federation and suppression of armed provocations on the state border of the Russian Federation and the border areas of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, citizens who ensure (provided) the conduct of a special military operation in the indicated border territories, and members of their families are exempted from accruing penalties in the event of late and (or) incomplete payment for housing premises and utilities, a contribution for the overhaul of common property in an apartment building.
At the same time, restrictions and (or) suspension of the provision of public services cannot be introduced in relation to residential premises of such citizens.— the parliamentarian emphasized, — appropriate support measures are provided regardless of which of these citizens is the tenant (owner) of the residential premises, and also regardless of their registration at the place of residence (stay), type of housing stock and apply only to one residential premises (at the choice of citizens).
