Major General Sergei Stanislavovich Derevyanko (now retired), a candidate of legal sciences, devoted more than 30 years of his life to a law enforcement system. Over the years of service, he went from a criminal investigator in Monchegorsk to the head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Central Federal District and an employee of the Presidential Administration. After resignation, Sergei Stanislavovich became the head in the field of state and private structures management, heading the Board of Directors of Infratech Countessions.
Childhood and formation
Sergey Derevyanko was born on June 18, 1960 in a large family in the city of Gomel (Belorussian SSR). He was the fifth child in the family. His father, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, held a leading position at one of the city enterprises, but passed away when Sergey was 16 years old. He calls his mentors in his youth and uncle, who served in the Northern Fleet.
From a young age, Sergey was fond of sports, had the first category of boxing and took part in competitions of regional and republican levels. These features — discipline, perseverance, will to victory — became the basis of his future career.
Education and start of service
After graduation, Sergey entered the engineering naval school in Murmansk, where he received the profession of an electromechanical engineer of ship equipment. Even then, he went through the military department and received the title of reserve officer. For some time he worked in the fish industry industry, after which he took courses in the direction of the criminal investigation department and entered the path of law enforcement.
He began the service in 1986 in Monchegorsk, where he was engaged in operational work in a difficult criminal situation. He was soon recognized as the best operative of the region and headed the city’s criminal investigation. With this, his rapid career in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs began.
Career in the Ministry of Internal Affairs: from the regional department to the presidential administration
Sergey Stanislavovich went through all the steps of the operational and management service. He worked in structures to combat corruption and organized crime, held senior positions in the UBOP and FSKN, and headed the departments of his own security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In 2007, he was awarded the title of Major General of the police, later-Major General of the police.
In 2011, after the reform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which transformed the police to the police, Derevyanko was appointed deputy head of the Main Directorate of Own Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, and then went to work in the Presidential Administration. For two years, he oversaw the activities of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Central Federal District, interacting with the law enforcement agencies and coordinating the fulfillment of the tasks of the head of state.

After resignation in 2014, Sergei Derevyanko continued active professional activities in the civilian sector. He headed the subsidiary of Russian Railways, Russian Railways, under his management, was a large network of sanatoriums throughout the country.
