Performance «Book Club»: Artek students of the 1st shift thanked their teachers at the «Meeting before parting»

The first shift ended with the musical performance «Book Club», dedicated to the Year of the Teacher and Mentor, at the International Children’s Center «Artek» 1943 of the year «Time of our discoveries». Artek residents gathered at the Artek-Arena to sum up the shift and say goodbye to the Land of Childhood. At the solemn ceremony, more than two thousand children from different regions of Russia said thank you to their teachers.

The children became participants in the musical performance «Book Club». In the center of the plot is a teacher of Russian language and literature who comes to a new class. At the first lesson, he completely changes the attitude of children to the lessons, shows how interesting the presentation of information can be and shares important knowledge with the children — answers to all questions can be found in books. The plot is filled with excerpts from the works and quotes of great writers: Fyodor Dostoevsky, Leo Tolstoy, Alexander Pushkin, Nikolai Gogol, Alexander Griboyedov and other writers. The protagonist of the performance, the teacher, not only shares knowledge with children, but also opens up a new world for the children — the world of literature. Events aimed at patriotic education occupied a large place in the shift program. On the day of the liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade, Artek residents held a memorable evening of the «Siege Memory of the Page», visited an exhibition organized for the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust. Also, pupils of the children’s center became participants in the educational project «Without a statute of limitations» and went on an educational excursion to the Memorial to the Victims of the Nazi Occupation of Crimea 0808-1944 city «Concentration camp» Krasny «.
