On June 17, folk music, traditional culture and a bright choreographic performance became part of a creative collaboration — the show program «Only in Russia». For one evening, the Meganom Academy site (Tavrida.ART project) in Crimea turned into an open-air concert hall for participants in the art schools of the folk orchestra and modern choreography of the first educational race of the Tavrida art cluster (project from Rosmolodezh). The program of art schools is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Rasul Gamzatov, an outstanding Avar and Soviet poet.
The concert program «Only in Russia» was the final event of the educational race of the same name of the art cluster «Tavrida» and was held on June 17 at the site of the Academy of Creative Industries «Meganom» — a year-round educational center for young representatives of culture, art and creative industries, which acts as the core of the youth educational resort «Tavrida.ART» and one of the leading platforms in Russia for the creation of projects in the field of creative industries.
More than 70 young musicians from different parts of the country took part in the concert. Each of them demonstrated the cultural identity of their region with the help of music, and then the sounds of folk instruments merged into a single musical composition performed by the All-Russian Youth Orchestra of National Instruments. At the creative evening, participants, guests and spectators were once again convinced of the versatility of the regions of Russia and heard live the sound of rare national instruments. The orchestra played not only the familiar balalaika, dombra and button accordion, but also such traditional instruments of the peoples of Russia as cymbals, Ossetian harmonica, Bashkir kurai and kyl-kubyz.
The place of honor of the conductor was taken by the artistic director and chief conductor of the folk instruments orchestra «Terema» Andrey Dolgov. Also, young musicians performed part of the compositions under the guidance of the artistic director and chief conductor of the Belgorod State Philharmonic, professor of the performing department of the Belgorod State Institute of Arts and Culture, Honored Cultural Worker of the RF Evgeny Aleshnikov and Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan, artistic director and chief conductor of the National Orchestra of Folk Instruments of the Republic of Belarus Linara Davletbaeva. In addition, professional conductors drew attention to a talented participant from Kazan, a young musician Almaz Zaripov, and invited him to join the team of masters during a performance at the Meganom Academy.
I am very proud of my work — promotion of national musical traditions of our country. I am also inspired by the fact that in Russia there is Tavrida, which can bring together the best musicians from different regions and unite them into a folk orchestra. We had only five days to create a concert program from beginning to end — and we succeeded. The members of the orchestra got the opportunity to work with outstanding experts and create under the guidance of several conductors at once, each of whom is a master of his craft. The works of Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Vladimir Kuryan, Modest Mussorgsky, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Karl Orff were performed together with the music of young authentic composers — Ekaterina Khmelevskaya, Natalia Timofeeva and Ural Idelbaev.
The unique sound of folk instruments was complemented by the performance of the artists of the art school of choreography «New Russian Dances». The bright show surprised by the originality and originality of mixing the styles of Russian folk and ethnic culture with a completely new approach to choreography.
For dancers, folk music gives rise to new images and solutions that can be used to stage modern choreography. Therefore, our creative collaboration is a useful experiment for a dancer and an opportunity to immerse yourself in traditional culture., — says an expert of the art school of choreography, a participant in major Russian projects and performances, dance producer Alisa Chebotareva.
Also on the final day of the educational race, the participants of the art school of the underwater art park presented at the Academy site the developed concepts of future art objects and their models printed on a 3D printer, the results of practical classes in underwater painting and photography. As part of the program, two new objects of the underwater art park, developed by the participants of the February intensive at the Meganom Academy, were immersed. Art objects “By the Pike’s Command” and “Duck” now adorn the waters of the Black Sea. The first art object was created by Maria Balaenko and Ivan Gonarov, it is dedicated to scientists involved in underwater research and personifies the luck and new discoveries of brave compatriots. Underwater sculpture «Duck» by Pavel Bibishev is an imitation of a bathtub cork, which can serve as an excellent photo zone for groups of divers.
In addition, the festival site of the art cluster «Tavrida» hosted the exhibition «Russia looks into itself», in which the art school of crafts shared the results of the study of folk crafts. Among the works are souvenirs and creative products created by the participants during the race.
The final product of the art school of gastronomy was the developed methodological recommendations of the creative class of chefs, collected by participants and experts during practical master classes and tastings. Also on the days of the race, there was a «Big Russian Breakfast» and an educational gastronomic festival, where participants and experts presented a variety of cuisines of the peoples of Russia: from syrniki with different types of filling to fish soup and Ossetian pie. The curator and author of the program of the art school of gastronomy was Ekaterina Shapovalova, author-methodologist and presenter of the “School of Gastronomy — 2023”, author of the all-Russian project “Gastronomic Map of Russia”.
An important event for the art school of contemporary literature was the casting for the special project «Real». According to the results of the casting, Elizaveta Malysheva and Kamila Latypova were invited to participate in a poetry project, the girls will take the stage with other authors as part of the Tavrida.ART festival in August. In addition, during the race, the theme of the relevance of film adaptations and the problems of writing a script based on a literary work were actively discussed. At a meeting with the writer Alexei Salnikov, the participants discussed his famous work «The Petrovs in the Flu».
In parallel with The competition Rosmolodezh.Grants, which is held by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and is included in the platform «Russia — a Land of Opportunities», was held as an inviting program of the race. At the first race, experts noted 5 projects, including two winners — finalists of accelerators of creative projects «Create. Tavrida» and «Create. Karelia». The winners received grant support totaling 2 450 000 rubles.
The educational run «Only in Russia» ended with a gala concert of musicians from the Art School of Author’s Songs — their compositions will be included in the music album recorded right on the site of «Tavrida».
