Police and volunteer headquarters «We are together — Sevastopol» warn Sevastopol residents about possible cases of fraud

During the monitoring of the media and the Internet, police officers in the city chats of a popular messenger revealed a publication about a young couple who were in one of the Sevastopol parks and introduced themselves as volunteers collecting help for participants in a special military operation in Ukraine.

The author of the post said that he had transferred one thousand rubles to strangers, and when he arrived at the address indicated by them to transfer things to the volunteer headquarters, he found a completely different organization there— noted in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol.

Due to this, Sevastopol police urge city residents to be vigilant when talking to strangers on the streets. In turn, the volunteer headquarters «We are together — Sevastopol» reports that it does not hold cash collections on the streets of the city. The volunteer organization has charitable bank accounts and a “box of kindness” for collecting cash, which is located in the headquarters office on Lenina Street, 39.

All volunteers who carry out explanatory events on the streets of the city on behalf of the headquarters have badges with a wet seal and the signature of the head.
