A new fraud scheme has been identified, which is gaining momentum ahead of the New Year holidays. Specialists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea warn Crimeans about this.
The scheme involves sending mass messages to Russian users via instant messengers. These messages invite people to participate in a free drawing of tickets to New Year’s events, such as concerts of famous performers or visits to popular Christmas trees in major Russian cities, including the Kremlin Christmas tree.
To participate in the drawing, scammers invite users to follow a special link to complete an application, which leads to a phishing site where they are asked to enter personal and payment information, supposedly to pay a small commission for receiving a ticket if they winthe police said.

We strongly recommend that you refuse to participate in any promotions or sweepstakes that require you to enter a large amount of personal data and payment information— emphasized the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
