Possible culprit of fire in Karadagsky Reserve in Koktebel identified
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Let us recall that the day before, a forest litter fire broke out in the territory of the Karadag State Nature Reserve in Feodosia. By this morning, the area of the fire had increased to 30 hectares. Police officers took part in extinguishing the fire, maintained public order, and ensured road safety.
As the police established, the fire was caused by the actions of a 50-year-old resident of the peninsula. He was doing construction work in one of the households in the village of Koktebel. While cutting metal with a grinder, sparks ignited dry vegetation. The man tried to extinguish the flames himself, but to no avail. The fire began to quickly spread to a specially protected natural area.— said the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk.
The investigative bodies of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea have opened a criminal case on the basis of the incident under Part 1 of Article 261 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
