Preparations for the safe conduct of Epiphany ablutions are under the control of the Crimean government. As reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea, places for Epiphany bathing are now being determined, and information from municipalities is being collected and processed. The diving service «CRIMEA-SPAS» is on standby to conduct bottom surveys.

To ensure security on Epiphany Day, units of the State Public Institution of the Republic of Crimea “CRIMEA-SPAS” and the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea” are annually involved in their areas of responsibility. During the events, employees of the emergency department ensure safety both on the shore and in the water in order to quickly provide assistance if necessary. In case of stormy conditions or rough seas, mass ablutions may be canceled– reported the emergency department.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea appeals to everyone who will perform ablutions: in case of a sharp deterioration in health, contact medical workers, rescuers or police officers. Only qualified specialists will help provide timely first aid and help avoid injuries and frostbite.
