On October 17, 2024, the XXVIII solemn ceremony of presenting one of the most authoritative legal awards in Russia — the highest legal award “Themis”, awarded to Russian and foreign lawyers, as well as government and public figures, took place in Moscow.

The motto of the award was Cicero’s words Salus populi suprema lex esto (Let the good of the people be the supreme law). The award was hosted by Ekaterina Avdeeva, member of the General Council and head of the expert center on criminal legal policy and execution of judicial acts of Business Russia, as well as Roman Babaev, director of the CSKA football club, a graduate of the Faculty of Law of Moscow State University, and a member of the UEFA Committee for Licensing Football Clubs.

Roman Babaev noted that the work of a lawyer is primarily reflected in the triumph of laws and the harmonious interaction of all social institutions. But the assessment of this work by the professional community serves as a sign of recognition of the best among equals.

The honorary award to Olga Kalenkovich in the “Notariat” category was presented by the President of the Federal Notary Chamber, Konstantin Korsik.

Konstantin Korsik noted that this award in 2024 is primarily dedicated to the memory of the outstanding person Anton Treushnikov, with whom he was personally acquainted; it is sad that he passed away recently, but the fact that he created the Themis Award, which speaks of public recognition those people who become its laureates is important. In the “Notariat” nomination he presented Olga Kalenkovich, president of the Notary Chamber of the city of Sevastopol. Olga Kalenkovich has headed the Notary Chamber of Sevastopol since 2014. Under her leadership, Sevastopol notaries quickly and successfully entered the Russian legal system and introduced digital information technologies into their work. The Sevastopol notary makes a great contribution to the provision of preferential legal, humanitarian, and social assistance to refugees and SVO participants. Olga Kalenkovich pays special attention to legal education of citizens.
