President of the Notary Chamber of Sevastopol — participant in the meeting on the week of legal assistance to families

Today, it is especially important to preserve and promote traditional family spiritual and moral values. We have good experience in holding the All-Russian Day of Legal Assistance for Children, which, since 2013, has been held annually in November. Last year, for example, more than 80 thousand consultation points operated and more than 300 thousand cases of assistance were provided. It is necessary to take this experience as a basis — the week of legal assistance should become a large-scale and accessible event, the priority task of which is to create maximum support for Russian families on all legal issues of interest to them,” notes Roman Ryaby, director of the Department for Development and Regulation of Legal Aid and Legal Services of the Russian Ministry of Justice.

As part of the week of legal assistance throughout Russia, the following will be organized:

• points of free legal advice on the protection of family values, respect for the rights and interests of a young family, children’s rights, guardianship, trusteeship and child-parent relations;
• activities for legal information and consultation of children and their parents in schools, orphanages, and children’s penitentiary institutions.

Round tables, seminars and online classes, trainings, webinars, thematic classes, legal hours and hotlines on legal issues will be held throughout the country.

Representatives of government authorities, specialists from the state law bureau, lawyers, notaries and NGO employees will travel to remote areas using mobile offices to provide advice to everyone.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the legal and notary community, heads of civil registry offices, representatives of the Commissioner for Human Rights, Children’s Rights, the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, and the Russian Lawyers’ Association.

At the end of the all-Russian meeting, a meeting was held at the local level, during which the directions and events that will be held in the city of Sevastopol in July 2024 were determined.
