Previously convicted men involved in the death of an elderly resident of Yalta will stand trial

The Main Investigation Department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has completed the investigation of a criminal case against two men involved in the death of a 69-year-old resident of Yalta.

On the night of October 26, 2022, a fight broke out between four men on one of the streets of the city during the conflict. The elderly father of two brothers — participants in the conflict, watching what was happening from the window of the house, demanded to stop the fight. After the fight, the brothers were hospitalized, and the two intruders took advantage of the fact that the elderly man was left alone in the house. They broke all the windows in his dwelling. One of the assailants entered the apartment, where he fatally hit the pensioner with a stone on the head.— told the details in the Sledkom.

The investigative department for the city of Yalta charged one man with intentional damage to someone else’s property, violation of the inviolability of the home and murder (part 1 of article 167, part 1 of article 139 and part 1 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the second — with intentional damage to someone else’s property, violation of the inviolability of the home (part 1 of article 167, part 1 of article 139 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),

28-year-old and 41-year-old men, repeatedly convicted for committing grave and especially grave crimes, are being held in custody.

At present, the investigation of the criminal case has been completed. All necessary investigative actions have been taken. The materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office for examination, signing of the indictment and further forwarding the case to the court for consideration on the merits.
