In April 2025, annual inflation accelerated to 13.5%. Products and sanatorium services were most noticeable.
Before the summer season, the demand for vacation in the region has traditionally been growing: since the beginning of the year, Sevastopol has already visited more tourists than a year earlier. Therefore, the services were valued: sanatoriums, rest houses and boarding houses laid the increased costs of maintenance and updating of the number of rooms, landscaping, and food in prices.
The cheese and dairy products in a month have significantly risen in price due to the fact that manufacturers transferred the growth of their costs for raw materials, transportation and employees’ salaries to prices. The cost of the “borscht set” has also increased — last year’s reserves of domestic vegetables end, and therefore sellers are importing more expensive importeds, potatoes, cabbage.
At the same time, eggs continued in the region. The prices for them for the year became below almost 30% due to the growth of production and inclusion in the list of socially significant goods.
In a non -food segment, the strengthened ruble and restrained demand influenced in April to reduce the cost of television radio boards, smartphones, shoes and imported cars. But the prices for them remained higher than a year ago. But computers and foreign cars with mileage in a year fell in price.
According to Bank of Russia, for a sustainable reduction in inflation, a more restrained increase in demand and a long period of high rates in the economy are required. The regulator predicts that annual inflation will decrease to the level of 4% in 2026.
