CrimeaPRESS reports:
On January 23, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the Decree “On measures of social support for large families.” Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea — Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Crimea Elena Romanovskaya spoke about the results of the implementation of the Decree.
The year 2024 passed under the auspices of the Year of the Family and was filled not only with hundreds of activities and events in which Crimean large families actively took part, but also a lot of work was done to implement the Presidential Decree. 15 republican normative legal acts were brought into compliance with it— the press service of the Deputy Prime Minister quotes.
Over the past five years, the number of large families living in Crimea has increased by 6 thousand and by the end of 2024 it is 33.9 thousand families raising 110 thousand children. In 2024, for the first time, the status of a large family was assigned to 2.9 thousand families.
Support for families is built on a systematic basis and is primarily aimed at families in need of special assistance from the state — low-income families, large families, families with disabled children. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Crimea provides social assistance to families with children in 15 areas.
In particular, it is planned to allocate more than 3 billion rubles to support large families in 2025.
Today, 25.3 thousand large families receive compensation for the cost of living quarters and utilities in the amount of 50 percent. More than 6 thousand large families whose average per capita income is below the subsistence level are provided with state social assistance in the form of social benefits. In 2024, 7.6 thousand families received compensation for the costs of purchasing school uniforms and 3 thousand families for sports uniforms.
44 thousand children from large families were given the right to discounted travel. More than 52 thousand children are included in the category of students who are provided with free two meals a day in an educational organization, and 3.5 thousand students are provided with free meals in professional educational organizations.
Also, children from large families are included in preferential categories of children who are provided with free trips to organize children’s recreation and their health. In 2024, vouchers to country camps were provided to 4.5 thousand children of this category. Almost 45 thousand children are covered by all types of recreation, health improvement, and sanatorium-resort treatment.
Supporting large families brings real results. The annual increase in the number of large families is evidence that we are moving in the right direction. The Government of Crimea will continue to work to improve the living conditions of large families, including within the framework of the national project “Family”, — Elena Romanovskaya emphasizes.
