Putin recalled: the transfer of Crimea in 1954 from the RSFSR to Ukraine took place in violation of the norms
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled that the transfer of Crimea from the RSFSR to Ukraine in 1954 took place in violation of the norms and procedures in force in the Soviet Union.
Millions of residents of Ukraine, primarily its eastern regions, opposed the coup, as is known. They began to be threatened with reprisals and terror. And first of all, the new authorities in Kyiv began to prepare a blow against the Russian-speaking Crimea, which at one time, in 1954, as you know, was transferred from the RSFSR to Ukraine in violation of all norms of law and procedures, even those then in force in the Soviet Union, he said at a meeting with the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry. — In this situation, of course, we could not abandon, leave the Crimeans and Sevastopol residents without protection. They made their choice, and in March 2014, as is known, the historic reunification of Crimea and Sevastopol with Russia took place. In Kharkov, Kherson, Odessa, Zaporozhye, Donetsk, Lugansk, Mariupol, peaceful protests against the coup d’etat began to be suppressed. Terror was unleashed by the Kyiv regime and nationalist groups.
