QR code, but not the same one! A new online fraud “scheme” has been spotted in Simferopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Attention! Fraudsters have come up with a new deception scheme! In Simferopol, advertisements are posted at the entrances of apartment buildings about the supposed replacement of an intercom key with a QR code at the expense of the management company, but this code leads to a malicious website.
The site requires you to provide personal information and the required number of keys, and then make a payment supposedly for the number of keys ordered.
To prevent the residents of the house from becoming suspicious, the attackers indicate at the bottom of the ad the details of the current management company that maintains the intercoms, but this is not reality.
Crimean police warn:
To avoid falling for the tricks of scammers, do not click on the specified QR code and do not transfer your personal data, as well as bank card details. If you fall for the tricks of scammers, immediately report it to the nearest police department or by calling the single telephone number 102, which operates around the clock.
Be careful!
