Freight rail transportation between Crimea and Zaporozhye region has been resumed. Restoring the message took less than a day— said the Ministry of Transport of the region.

Earlier, the press service of the Southern Suburban Passenger Company (USPC) TASS reported that the movement of commuter trains along the Salt Lake — Dzhankoy railway section in the Dzhankoy district of Crimea has been restored. On Thursday morning, the UPPC reported that the movement of electric trains on the section in the Dzhankoy district, where the bridge collapsed the day before, was suspended.

The collapse of the bridge on the Dzhankoy — Maslovo road in Crimea occurred over the railway tracks at the Dzhankoy — Mamut stations on Wednesday evening as a result of the movement of an overloaded heavy truck. Investigators will assess the condition of the overpass to determine if it is dangerous. The republic’s prosecutor’s office is also conducting an investigation into the collapse of part of the bridge. Two people were injured, one of them is in serious condition, the second refused hospitalization.
