The Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued a storm warning about dangerous hydrometeorological phenomena in Crimea for November 22 and 23.

According to the emergency department, rain is expected in Crimea this afternoon and until the end of the day, very heavy in places, turning into sleet at night on November 23. The “bad weather effect” will be intensified by the strengthening of the southeast wind with a transition to the northeast wind up to 17-22 m/s.

All forces and means of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea are in readiness for a rapid response. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Crimea has developed plans for the use of forces and means in case of emergencies caused by bad weather. The issues of interaction with the governing bodies of the Republic and other services and departments included in the Unified State System for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations (RSChS) were also clarified. Information about deteriorating weather conditions was promptly communicated to all management bodies and interested services through the regional automated central warning system (RASCO). All rescue equipment of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «CRIMEA-SPAS» and the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea» are ready to respond to possible emergency incidentsnoted the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea.

Rescuers remind residents and guests of the Crimean Peninsula of the need to follow the rules of safe behavior on roads and in the mountains when weather conditions worsen.

Climbers and winter recreation enthusiasts are strongly advised to refrain from walking in mountain and forest areas, and during periods of worsening weather conditions, avoid being in hard-to-reach areas of the Crimean mountains.
