Not a single Crimean summer goes by without a raspberry harvest. It is gratifying to see that farmers have harvested 20 tons of raspberries to date. In general, both large and small agricultural enterprises, as well as peasant farms in the Sovetsky, Simferopolsky, Nizhnegorsky, Krasnoperekopsky, Dzhankoysky, and Belogorsky districts, are engaged in raspberry cultivation in Crimea. However, the largest areas of raspberries are concentrated in the Bakhchisaray district and occupy more than 12 hectares. The planned volume of raspberry production in Crimea is expected to be at the level of last year and will amount to about 92 tons from an area of 38 hectares.— commented the acting Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea, Alime Zaredinova.

Alime Zaredinova also reported that along with raspberries, the republic is actively harvesting blackberries.

The blackberry harvest is expected to be good this year. In 2 weeks, more than 26 tons of berries have already been collected from an area of 8 hectares. In Crimea, blackberries grow on an area of 35 hectares. Basically, Crimean farmers grow one of the most popular varieties — Thornfree. This is a dessert variety, with large black berries and thick shoots without thorns. The leaders in blackberry production are the Bakhchisarai and Belogorsk districts— the acting minister said.
