“Record” theft in the village of Dubki near Simferopol. The thief stole almost 4 million worth of money and jewelry

The Simferopol District Court issued a verdict in a criminal case against a resident of the region who had been previously convicted several times. He was found guilty under paragraph “b” of Part 4 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft).

The court found that in April last year, a man, making sure that no one was watching his actions, entered a household in the village of Dubki. From the premises he stole gold jewelry and cash totaling more than 3.9 million rubles. The convict was detained by internal affairs officers— reported the Crimean prosecutor’s office.

Interestingly, the defendant did not admit guilt in the charged crime. Nevertheless, the court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, as well as previous criminal records, sentenced the man to 6 years in prison in a high-security correctional colony. The victim’s claim for material damages and compensation for moral damages was also satisfied.
