From November 4 to November 6, 2023, the Federal Educational Marathon of the Russian Society «Knowledge» will be held — Knowledge. First. The marathon starts on the opening day of the International exhibition-forum «Russia» at VDNKh in Moscow, which will present the main achievements of the country. Marathon Knowledge. The first 10,000 registrants will receive invitations to visit the marathon studios at VDNKh, and viewers from all over the country will be able to join online broadcasts of lectures and live discussions on the Knowledge Society website and in its VKontakte community. The Russian society «Knowledge» is the general partner of the educational program of the exhibition.

The main theme of the marathon will be the modern achievements of our country and its citizens, which contribute to the development of Russia and increase its prestige at the international level. According to the good tradition that has already been established, outstanding scientists, heads of major companies, successful entrepreneurs, masters of culture and art, statesmen and public figures will share their experience at the Knowledge Marathon. The international exhibition-forum «Russia» was established by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, all 89 regions of the Russian Federation, federal departments, corporations, foreign delegations and public organizations will take part in it.

On it, visitors will be able to learn more about their native country: about its achievements, natural resources, people and traditions. For half a year, the territory of VDNKh will become a miniature projection of Russia, because all 89 regions of the country, federal ministries, corporations will be represented at the exhibition, large-scale educational and cultural programs will be organized. The autumn marathon will be the sixth for the Russian society «Knowledge». More than 850 lecturersincluding Dmitry Peskov, Tatyana Golikova, Dmitry Chernyshenko, Vladimir Medinsky, Sergey Kravtsov, Sergey Lavrov, Maksut Shadayev, Ramzan Kadyrov, Viktor Sadovnichy, Fyodor Bondarchuk, Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Mashkov, Konstantin Khabensky, Konstantin Ernst, Evgeny Kaspersky, Sergey Karyakin , Khabib Nurmagomedov and many other authoritative mentors.

For two years educational marathons were attended by more than 50 thousand young people from different regions of our country, including from the Lugansk and Donetsk people’s republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

According to the already established tradition, lecturers communicate with the most active participants of the marathon and answer questions from the audience. Other formats of interaction include communication in small groups, as well as the participation of young people in the work of the «youth directorate», which, based on the impressions of the participants, forms proposals for the program of the next marathons.

A significant result of each marathon is the creation of relevant educational content that replenishes the digital library of the Knowledge Society. To date, recordings of online broadcasts from five past marathons have scored over 580 million views.

The first Educational Marathon took place in May 2021 and became a symbol of the reboot of the Russian Knowledge Society. The next marathon was timed to the Day of Knowledge and was held from September 1 to September 3, 2021. The third Educational Marathon was held from May 17 to May 19, 2022 and was dedicated to new opportunities that open up to young people in various fields. From August 31 to September 2, 2022, the fourth marathon took place, and for the first time residents of new regions joined it. The Fifth Federal Educational Marathon, called Knowledge.First, was held from April 24 to April 26, 2023 and was dedicated to the theme «Time for Action».

Russian society «Knowledge» originates from a Soviet public organization founded in 1947 on the initiative of representatives of the Soviet intelligentsia as the All-Union Society for the Dissemination of Political and Scientific Knowledge (since 1963 — the All-Union Society «Knowledge», since 1991 — the Society «Knowledge of Russia»). Members of the Society were engaged in the popularization of science, lectured on the achievements of the Soviet economy and industry. In 2016, “Knowledge of Russia” was transformed into the All-Russian Public and State Educational Organization “Russian Society “Knowledge”. On April 21, 2021, in the Address of the President of the Russian Federation to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin announced the need to restart the Russian Knowledge Society on a modern digital platform.
