Captains of Culture is Meganom Academy’s flagship program, which aims to strengthen the workforce of cultural institutions across the country. This is achieved through the development of flexible skills of participants, for example, strategic thinking, leadership qualities, communication and teamwork skills, through the practice of new professional competencies, in particular the development of strategies for the development of cultural organizations, as well as through the creation of a large professional community with the prospect of joint projects and exchange of experience .
Participants in the first stream of “Captains of Culture” included 100 people from 40 regions of the country. They include representatives of cultural institutions, NGOs, commercial organizations, creative associations, professionals in the field of culture, art and creative industries. Among them are specialists from the State Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve “Chersonese Tauride” Olga Nekrashevich, Natalya Korobitsina and Pavel Khlebovsky.
The program expands horizons, makes you look at yourself, your life choices in a new way, really feel like a creator, become a real “captain of culture,” and join the common cause, which in a global sense is called Russian culture. I would like to note the brilliant composition of moderators, speakers, and participants. You’re just filled with pride in your culture, in your roots, in the fact that you can be part of the big, incomprehensible Russia with its unique nationalities,” shared her impressions of program participant Olga Nekrashevich, head of the department for the preparation and implementation of spiritual and educational programs of the Federal State Budgetary Institution GIAMZ “Khersones.” Tauride».
Representatives of the museum-reserve also separately noted the joint art school “Taurid Chersonese” with “Tavrida”, which will be held as part of the third educational race “Russian Summer” from June 21 to 27 in Crimea at the site of the art cluster. As part of the art school, its participants will present concepts for art objects for the museum-reserve.
The program is designed for medium-term training, consisting of two face-to-face modules and online work, following which participants will develop personal projects for organizational changes in their institutions and build vectors of personal professional growth as managers. The modules cover key aspects of the activity of a modern leader: the basics of managing organizational change, developing systems thinking skills, increasing the ability to resist the disruptors of team interaction.
During the intensive, participants underwent trainings and master classes to develop leadership and management skills. Together we developed effective management strategies for the development of cultural organizations in accordance with state cultural policy. The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation took an active part in the development of recommendations for the formation and content of the educational program “Captains of Culture”.
Today, there are great opportunities to support cultural professionals to expand their professional skills and knowledge. “Meganom” Academy is a powerful educational center, where now, as part of the “Captains of Culture” program, creative workers not only undergo training, but also, under the guidance of experienced experts, develop modern applied solutions for the development of various areas in the field of culture,” commented the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova.
