CrimeaPRESS reports:
A series of discussions dedicated to the launch of the «Cultural Code of Sevastopol» project continues in the hero city. On March 23, all those who are not indifferent to creativity, art and creation are invited to the Russian State Art Gallery at st. Portovaya, 17. Here, at 16:00, the discussion session «Excursion to the world’s IAFs: an overview of the world’s lewdness» starts. As the organizers of the project «Cultural Code of Sevastopol» noted, the event will be led by two speakers at once — acting. Deputy Director of the Russian State Art Gallery Victoria Danilyuk, as well as the publisher and editor-in-chief of the art and art business magazine Art MUSE, art critic Irina Pivkina:
As part of the discussion session, we will talk about public art and the need to rethink it, as well as discuss what shock projects exist in small-scale architecture in a professional and amateur environment. Join us, we are waiting for all those who are not indifferent!
Recall that this year the project «Cultural Code of Sevastopol» is being implemented with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and the beer and non-alcoholic plant «Krym». Artists and architects from all over Russia can take part in the competition. The main task of the festival is to rethink the visual image of Sevastopol. The project is aimed at fostering patriotism through the formation of a local identity by creating art objects that personify the city.
Creators can send an application for participation right now, filling out the form and attaching a sketch of your art object to it. The jury members will carefully study all submitted works and select the top five finalists. In June, they will receive everything they need to create models of art objects and begin to translate their ideas into reality, after which they will come to Sevastopol to feel the spirit of the city and take part in the festival itself, during which the results of the competition will be summed up. The two winners of the project will receive an equipped workshop, assistants and funds for the production of life-size art objects.
In 2021, 120 sketches were sent to the «Cultural Code of Sevastopol» competition. The finalists were 10 works, the authors of which visited the city and were imbued with its incredible atmosphere.
