Residents of Sevastopol took part in the campaign “From the GTO sign to active longevity”
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Residents of Sevastopol over 55 years of age took part in the event “From the GTO sign to active longevity” on Saturday. The event took place at the stadium of the sports and recreation complex named after the 200th anniversary of Sevastopol and was timed to coincide with the International Day of Older Persons.
The participants were women over 55 years of age and men over 60. They tested their strength in various disciplines: 1 km running and 1 km mixed movement for participants over 60 years of age, flexibility exercise, abs, push-ups, benches and chair push-ups.
I am very glad that in our city there are many older people who regularly go in for sports. Physical activity is the key to longevity and well-being. It’s not for nothing that they say, a healthy mind in a healthy body,” said Sergei Reznichenko, head of the sports department.
During the event, certificates and insignia of the TRP for 2023 at senior age levels were also solemnly presented.
