Residents of Simferopol support the introduction of fines for walking dangerous dogs without a muzzle
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Most residents of Simferopol agree that the rules for walking dogs should be tightened. The bill is most often supported by respondents with children. In a service survey SuperJob Representatives of the economically active population from Simferopol took part.
The State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill that introduces fines for walking dangerous breed dogs without a leash and muzzle: liability for violations will be up to 3 thousand rubles for individuals, up to 10 thousand for legal entities. According to a Superjob survey, the majority of Simferopol residents (77%) approve of this decision: “I support it, but I think that the fines should be much higher”; “Such a law is necessary to prevent dangerous breeds of dogs from attacking people, especially children.”
Women were more likely to agree with the introduction of fines: 79% versus 75% among men. The level of support is even higher among respondents with children — 84%.
The majority of dog owners also approve of stricter walking rules: 72% of them support the innovation, citing as examples tragic cases of injuries and even deaths of small breed dogs from larger ones. However, such a law was more often supported by those who do not own dogs — 85%.
Only 8% of Simferopol residents did not support the parliamentarians: “There are no dangerous dog breeds. There are owners who do not know how to maintain, train, or maintain a good psychological state of their pet.”
15% of respondents found it difficult to answer: “Even a harmless breed can bite”; “We could introduce a fine regarding muzzles for those who have not completed the training course.”
