Residents of Yalta are asked to determine the location of the monument to Mukhtar
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Among the possible options for placing a sculptural composition in memory of the “Yalta Hachiko” — the dog Mukhtar — 4 places on the embankment have been identified.
The famous Russian sculptor Alexander Iulianovich Rukavishnikov decided to donate a sculptural composition in memory of our “Yalta Hachiko” to the city. He is the author of many monuments — to Vladimir Vysotsky at the Vagankovsky cemetery, Dostoevsky at the Russian State Library, Alexander II on the territory of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Yuri Nikulin, Mikhail Sholokhov — in Moscow, Yulian Semyonov — at the Oreanda Hotel and many other historical figures,” the press service quotes the head of the Yalta administration, Yanin Pavlenko.
The eminent sculptor, like many others, notes Yanina Pavlenko, was touched by the fate of Mukhtar, who became everyone’s favorite, a symbol of fidelity and devotion.
Let us remember that the first owner of the dog was taken by the sea and for many years he came to the shore and peered into the horizon, waiting for the one who was so dear to him. And even after Mukhtar accepted the care of the new owner, the street musician he sang along with on the embankment, he still continued to peer into the distance of the sea.
It is on the embankment that the author sees the best place for his sculpture and offers four placement options: three — at the steps to the lower embankment opposite the city garden, the fourth — in the «fungi» area, says the head of the Yalta administration.
