Results of the “Youth Landing” action in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On March 14, in the assembly hall of Sevastopol State University, the closing of the patriotic action “Youth Landing” took place within the framework of the All-Russian patriotic action “Snow Landing of the North Ossetia”, which is being held in Sevastopol for the fifth time. This year, 130 people took part in the event: 70 students and 60 schoolchildren.
During two weeks of travel, fighters from the “Youth Landing” detachments visited 6 municipal districts, provided assistance to 30 elderly people, cleaned the territory of 17 historical memorial sites, planted 20 tree seedlings, visited 7 schools with lessons in courage and wrote 527 letters for our military personnel who are in zone of special military operation.
We can say with confidence that this season of the “Youth Landing” campaign turned out to be the longest and most diverse in the implementation of good deeds. Participants in the action beautified WWII monuments, provided targeted assistance to elderly people, and wrote letters of support for military personnel who are in the zone of a special military operation. Many thanks to all the fighters of the student brigades of Sevastopol and members of the governor’s school labor brigades for the work done as part of the “Youth Landing” in 2024– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the Sevastopol Youth Affairs Department Marina Slonchenko.
Along with students, schoolchildren also took part in the action this year: the first in Russia, student teams from Sevastopol sent schoolchildren to remote municipalities, who helped people with limited mobility and pensioners, and beautified historical monuments.
Also, fighters from the “Youth Landing” units took part in the “To You, Loved Ones” campaign, timed to coincide with the celebration of International Women’s Day, and visited the “Here is your dog” shelter, where they helped with dog walking and brought food and medicine.
This is the second time I have taken part in the event, and for me it has become traditionally significant. During our trips, we managed to visit many monuments and improve them. But the most important thing for me was visiting elderly people. From year to year, these trips are of great importance for airborne soldiers. We dug up a lot of gardens, took out a huge amount of bags of garbage, but most of all — the smiles of grannies. My heart sank every time when pensioners told stories from their lives and shared their impressions of our arrival. Every year they look forward to us not only helping, but also chatting with them about everything in the world.
The landing gave us the opportunity to implement cool ideas, find comrades and please the older generation. You can’t dream of anything more! — says the commissioner of the “New Generation” detachment, Evgenia Avakova.
This year’s “Youth Landing” ended with a festive concert, where the outstanding performers of the action were celebrated. The best units were the Southern Lights and Blooming Shore teams.
Let us remind you that the event was organized within the framework of the All-Russian patriotic action “Snow Landing of the North Ossetia” by the Sevastopol Youth Affairs Department, the Sevastopol regional branch of the Russian student groups.
