Riding an electric bike and knocked down a child. Incident in the village of Gvardeyskoye

In the Simferopol district, a woman who hit a child with a bicycle in the urban-type settlement of Gvardeyskoye will appear in court. The 43-year-old local resident is charged under Part 1 of Article 268 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of rules ensuring the safe operation of transport).
According to the preliminary investigation body, the accused, while riding an electric bicycle in the village of Gvardeyskoye at night, ignored the «No Entry» road sign and continued driving, entering a pedestrian zone. As a result of inattention and carelessness, she collided with an oncoming bicycle driven by a minor, causing serious harm to the latter’s health.the prosecutor’s office reported.
With the approved indictment, the criminal case was sent to the Simferopol District Court for consideration on the merits. The range of punishments is wide: «restriction of freedom for up to three years, or forced labor for up to two years, or arrest for up to four months, or imprisonment for up to two years.»
