Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate are establishing the circumstances of an accident in Simferopol in which a minor was injured. On October 14, at 08:08 in Simferopol, a minor, born in 2014, driving a personal mobility device equipped with a 350-watt electric motor, moving from Kharkovsky Lane in the direction of Mramornaya Street along Urozhainaya Street on a secondary road, did not give way and collided with a Hyundai Solaris car driven by a driver born in 1980. A minor driver of an electric scooter was injured as a result of an accident.— reported the traffic police.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds that although the scooter driver is considered a pedestrian, he must follow safety rules. Such a violator can be held accountable on the same grounds as a pedestrian — under Article 12.29 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. If the power of the scooter according to the passport is higher than 4 kW, and the speed is more than 50 km/h, then in order to operate it, you will need a driver’s license of category “M”. In this case, the person who controls the scooter will be the driver.
Dear parents! It is important to remember that the driver of an electric scooter is a full-fledged participant in the road traffic who bears the same responsibility for his actions as the driver of a car.— state traffic inspectors addressed the Crimeans.
