Road accident in Simferopol: a trolleybus jumped through a red light

The police and prosecutor’s office are looking into the circumstances of a massive accident in Simferopol involving a trolleybus. A public transport passenger was reported injured. From a strong blow, a 55-year-old man… flew out the window of a trolleybus, receiving multiple (including traumatic brain) injuries. Preliminarily, the culprit of the accident is the trolleybus driver.
On October 3, at 16:27 on Akademika Vernadsky Avenue in Simferopol, a driver, born in 1985, driving a Trolza trolleybus, moving along Akademika Vernadsky Avenue from Goncharova Street, when passing a controlled intersection at a prohibitory traffic light, collided with a BMW car » under the control of a driver, born in 1994, who was moving from the direction of Bespalova Street at the traffic light. After the collision, the Trolza trolleybus entered the lane intended for oncoming traffic, where it collided with a VAZ 2115, driven by a driver born in 1999, who was moving in the opposite direction. As a result of a traffic accident, a trolleybus passenger, born in 1969, received bodily injuries and was taken to a medical facility— reported the traffic police.
As the prosecutor’s office clarified, as part of the inspection, an assessment will be made of the actions of officials of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Crimea «Crimeatrolleybus» when organizing transportation.
