Road Safety Week in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
All-Russian Road Safety Week is underway. It is carried out in order to improve the activities of educational organizations in the prevention of accidents involving children, as well as to increase the level of legal culture in the field of road traffic among participants in educational institutions.
The main theme of the Safety Week was ensuring the safety of children in the road transport environment and preventing accidents involving them. All-Russian Road Safety Week marks the beginning of the school year, when it is especially important to conduct classes aimed at increasing safety among minors.
Thematic “Safety Minutes” classes, competitions, flash mobs, promotions, and quizzes dedicated to traffic rules will be held on the territory of general educational institutions of Sevastopol. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate, together with the Department of Education of Sevastopol, will organize events to prevent children’s road traffic injuries for students, parents and teachers.
The following events will be held as part of Road Safety Week:
- from September 19 to October 15, 2023 on the online educational platform Uchi.ru The All-Russian online Olympiad “Safe Roads” will be held for students in grades 1-9;
- September 19, 2023 on the educational platform Uchi.ru An All-Russian open lesson on road safety rules will be held;
- On September 20, 2023, State Traffic Inspectorate employees will hold a Unified Road Safety Day together with young traffic inspectors.
State Traffic Inspectorate employees will take part in school parent meetings and will focus on issues of concern, from ensuring the safety of children on the way to school, including when transporting them in private cars, to the use of reflective elements at night.
Parents will be reminded of the inadmissibility of children under the age of 10 years old unaccompanied by adults on the roadway and of the need to monitor compliance with traffic rules by children and adolescents when driving a vehicle, bicycle and motorcycle. In the morning hours, “parental patrols” will be on duty to ensure the safety of children.
