Robbery in Yalta: two young thugs attacked a taxi driver

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Yalta, two participants in a robbery against a taxi driver were detained. The young thugs explained their actions with a simple fact… they needed money.

The duty station of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Yalta received a message from a 38-year-old local resident about a robbery. The man told police that he works as a driver for a taxi service. The day before, he carried out an order for his friends to one of the forests located in the suburbs of Yalta. When the man brought the young people to the specified address, they began to demand money and valuables from him, but were refused. Having thrown the man to the ground, they began to choke and beat him, and then stole a mobile phone worth 15,000 rubles and a wallet containing 2,000 rubles. In order to hide traces of the crime, the attackers set fire to a car belonging to a taxi service.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

As a result of operational search activities, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Yalta detained previously convicted residents of the Kirovsky district, 24 and 25 years old, suspected of robbery. The detainees confessed to the police officers what they had done and explained that in order to make money, they entered into a criminal conspiracy and attacked the taxi driver.

Currently, the defendants have been charged under Part 2 of Art. 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery, that is, an attack for the purpose of stealing someone else’s property, committed with the use of violence dangerous to health, by a group of persons by prior conspiracy). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years.noted the Yalta police.

The accused was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention.
