Roskadastr intends to conduct a mass inventory of land plots

Amendments are going to be made to the law “On Cadastral Activities”. The authors of the document emphasize that the Unified State Register of Real Estate contains incomplete and unreliable information. More than a third of the plots, 35%, do not have clear boundaries. There is no information about the exact location of the boundaries of 22 million land plots and the contours of 31 million capital objects.

Legislative regulation of complex cadastral work needs to be improved, says Deputy Head of Rosreestr Alexey Butovetsky. He explained that cadastral engineers often violate the deadlines for carrying out cadastral work or perform this work with poor quality. As a result, the boundaries of land plots indicated in the Unified State Register do not coincide with the real ones.

The errors will be corrected by specialists from the public law company Roskadastr. The company has branches in all regions. This will allow comprehensive cadastral work to be carried out simultaneously in all regions of the country.

Rosreestr and Roskadastre will control the quality and timing of cadastral work. An integrated approach will correct the accumulated registry errors, the press service of Rosreestr told the publication. Previously, people had to contact a cadastral engineer to correct inaccuracies. Roskadastr will correct registry errors free of charge. This approach will improve the quality of real estate services and minimize the risks of land disputes.

Rosreestr added that property owners will not face new costs due to complex cadastral work, since it will be carried out at the expense of the federal budget.
