Roskino appreciated the opportunity to fill the gap in the market with Chinese films
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Chinese cinema will be able to make up for the deficit that has arisen in the Russian film market after the withdrawal of Western film companies, its quality has grown, and the Russian audience is experiencing great interest in it, said Ekaterina Naumova, acting director general of Roskino, in Beijing.
Certainly it can. Because the quality of Chinese cinema has grown a lot over the past few years. Sometimes it’s hard to even think if this is a completely self-produced film by China. The production technology is so high, the acting is so good and the shooting itself is so good.— quotes Naumova RIA News.
According to her, now many countries are starting to display their content on Russian online platforms and cinemas.
During the Foreign Cinema Days, we are conducting surveys of our viewers, asking which films from which countries they would like to watch, and a big request for modern cinema in Africa, China, and India. There is a request for the Scandinavian countries— also said the head of Roskino.
At the same time, Naumova noted that recently one often hears from the Russian audience a great interest in watching modern, fresh Chinese cinema.
On Tuesday, the opening ceremony of the Russian Film Festival took place in Beijing. Film screenings within the framework of the festival started last Sunday in the city of Heihe, located in the Heilongjiang province bordering Russia. There, free screenings were held from 27 to 29 August at the Wanda Cinema. Residents and guests of the Chinese capital will be able to watch Russian films from August 29 to September 2 at the Art Cinema. Later, the Russian Film Festival will be held in Suzhou from September 1 to 3 at the Culture And Arts Centre.
