Krympress reports:

Rosrybolovstvo did not record the death of aquatic biological resources after an emergency in the Kerch Strait, while monitoring the situation is constantly carried out, the department said.

Important: since the accident, cases of death of aquatic biological resources have not been recorded. Black Sea fish is safe for eating. Monitoring the situation is constantly carried out— quotes the message TASS.

The department also reported that it would conduct additional expeditionary research in the Black Sea. So, experts have already completed data processing to preliminary evaluate the consequences of the fuel oil spill in the Kerch Strait. A total of 124 oil products, 14 samples of fish and aquaculture products were processed, and water was used.

The data obtained during the first stage of research and certain sampling stations will become the basis for the subsequent monitoring of the state of aquatic biological resources and their habitat in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas— the department reports.

Currently, according to Rosrybolovstvo, preparations for a spring expedition are underway, during which water and aquatic biological resources will be selected.

This will clarify the previously obtained data and evaluate the state of the ecosystem— emphasizes the department.

On the progress of research

According to Rosrybolovstvo, 4 stages of research will be completed to obtain a full picture. So, at the first stage, studies of the Caucasian coast were conducted, as well as the adjacent Black Sea waters with a total area of about 600 square kilometers. Scientists have collected about 205 different samples — pollutant, water, soil, bottom deposits and hydrobionts for hydrobiological, hydrochemical and toxicological analysis.

Additional expeditionary work is planned, including on the Oleg Betin research vessel, in order to fully assess the effect of pollution on the aquatic biological resources and their habitat,— It is added in a message from Rosrybolovstvo.
