Rostec: state tests of the Koalitsiya-SV self-propelled artillery gun have been completed
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Rostec State Corporation has completed state tests of the 152-mm self-propelled artillery gun (SAO) «Coalition-SV», confirming the unique technical characteristics of the installation. The newest howitzer surpasses the best world and domestic models in terms of firing range and accuracy, as well as in the time it takes to solve combat missions.
The self-propelled joint stock company «Coalition-SV» is designed to destroy artillery and mortar batteries, armored vehicles and enemy personnel. The weapon is also designed to solve the problem of destroying air and missile defense systems, as well as control posts and field fortifications.
The gun has fully automated shot preparation processes, including selecting the type of projectile, installing the fuse and aiming the gun. This reduces the start time of firing and provides the necessary rate of fire.
The Koalitsiya-SV self-propelled howitzer is not just another example of domestic artillery, but a significant milestone in its development. In fact, this is a combat robot; a distinctive feature of the SAO is the high level of automation — the crew is located in an isolated armored capsule and from there remotely controls the combat vehicle. Compared to existing types of artillery weapons, the Coalition-SV has a reduced reaction time to any unscheduled targets, which is especially important in modern combat conditions. Successful completion of state tests allows us to begin mass production of this artillery weapon– the press service quotes the industrial director of the complex of conventional weapons, ammunition and special chemicals of the Rostec State Corporation Bekhan Ozdoev.
