In March 2025, the Runet recorded a significant increase in the number of appeals associated with the distribution of malicious software (VPO), follows from the data of the Coordinating Center for Domains .ru/. RF, which Izvestia got acquainted.
In March, the organizations were sent to registrars 1141 an appeal on the fact of the spread of VPO in the domain zones .ru and. RF, which is 2.5 times higher than February. Then 462 appeals were recorded.
At the same time, the growth in the spread of malicious ones can be observed in the analysis of quarterly dynamics. According to the results of the first quarter of this year, the number of appeals increased 2.7 times compared to the data of the same period of 2024: 2022 against 737 appeals, respectively.
According to the analyst of the data of the Coordinating Center of Domains Evgeny Pankov, the malicious software is an instrument of infection and subsequent scaling of the attack. “The beginning of this year demonstrates a stable tendency to an increase in activity associated with malicious software. Given the current dynamics, it can be assumed that attacks using VPO will continue to grow, ”he added.
The information pressure on Russian users and the commercial sector as a whole is growing today, notes the State Duma deputy, a member of the Inform Policy Committee, the federal coordinator of the Digital Russia party project Anton Nemkin. “Pressure grows in almost all areas of illegal network activity. For example, according to “Inform Prisode”, in 2024 the number of phishing resources increased 4 times compared to 2023. At the same time, the indicator of spring 2025 has already doubled relative to the same period of 2024— said the deputy.
The growth of phishing resources can also affect the growth of the total number of malfunctions, Nemkin notes.
It is phishing that remains the main tool for the distribution of harmful programs. Most often, attackers act through e -mail, but messengers are also actively used. Due to the phishing, almost any kind of VPO — from scholars to Trojans can spread. Most often, the purpose of such malicious ones is to steal confidential information. If we are talking about the corporate sector, then the data of commercial secrets may be in the spotlight. If about ordinary users, then logins and passwords from digital resources, as well as financial information. According to the study of the same “information protection”, in 77% of cases of theft of identification information, stylers are used— said the deputy.
Nemkin called on users and business not to wait for the weakening of information pressure.
The commercial sector should have long been updated to ensure information security, in particular, to focus on developing the digital literacy of its employees. With the spread of malicious, attackers, as a rule, actively use the human factor, and not the complex technical strategies of penetration. Today, digital literacy courses should become an obligatory element of corporate corporate training of any organization— the deputy is convinced.
To ensure personal information security, Nemkin recommends not to install unlicensed applications, especially from pirate sites.
It is also important to configure the mail filter, which will help weed out suspicious messages and spam. Finally, it is always worth checking the address of the domain name and with great care to download files from investments directed by third -party users— said the deputy.
