Russia does not disclose losses in the Northern Military District — Vladimir Putin explained why

Russian President Vladimir Putin reports «Parliamentary newspaper»answered why, since the beginning of the Northern Military District, Russia has not announced the number of losses of the Russian Armed Forces.

As a rule, no one ever talks about this. And if they say, they distort the real figures. But I can say with complete confidence that our losses, especially if it concerns irreparable losses, are several times less than on the Ukrainian side“, said Vladimir Putin, answering a question from Karim Talbi, editor-in-chief of European information of AFP (France).

The President said that 1,348 Russian soldiers are in captivity in Ukraine, and 6,465 Ukrainian soldiers are in captivity in Russia. According to him, the loss ratio is approximately the same — 1 to 5.
