Amendments are being made to the Federal Law “On Education in the Russian Federation”.
Deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted in the third reading lawwhich adjusts the basic principles of state policy and legal regulation of relations in the field of education.
Thus, in accordance with the document, education in the Russian Federation must correspond to traditional Russian spiritual and moral values and be focused on the tasks of development of the state and society, and any changes in this area must have a scientific justification. They should be taken only after a thorough risk analysis and prediction of possible consequences.
This, as the authors of the initiative emphasize, means that the education system is designed not only to prepare the specialists the country needs, but also to educate citizens in the spirit of respect for traditional values, to preserve the historical continuity of generations, while simultaneously developing in students cognitive activity, initiative, creativity, forming the ability to to work and volunteering.
