Russian motorists are waiting for a new fine
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Already this fall, a new fine will be introduced for Russian motorists for using tires that do not correspond to the season. This became known after the publication of a government decree on the official portal of legal information. «On Amendments to the Basic Provisions on the Admission of Vehicles for Operation and the Obligations of Officials to Ensure Road Safety». You will be penalized in the following cases:
- If during the summer period (from June to August) the driver drives a car with studded tires.
- If during the winter period (December to February) vehicles of categories M1 and N1 drive on summer tires.
- If winter tires, including those with anti-skid studs, are not installed on all wheels.
According to Article 12.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses For these violations, the driver faces a fine of 500 rubles.
The rule will come into effect on September 1 this year. It is clarified that drivers are not obligated to “change shoes” for a car in winter in studded tires — it will be possible to move around on Velcro. In the summer, driving on such tires will also not be fined. Sanctions will be imposed only for «thorns».
