«Russian Troy» in Sevastopol: what awaits the guests of the military-historical festival

On September 10, the VI International military-historical festival «Russian Troy» will be held on the territory of the Malakhov Kurgan memorial complex in Sevastopol. The atmosphere of the action will be created by reenactors in the images of soldiers from the period of the Crimean War. According to Tourist portal of Crimeathe program of the event includes free tours, master classes, concerts, performances and much more.

Malakhov Kurgan will meet residents and guests of the glorious Hero City of Sevastopol with a recreation of colorful pages from the history of the Crimean War: camps of the Russian army and opposing countries will be set up here, visitors will be entertained by reenactors in historical costumes, themed performances will convey the unique atmosphere of that time, and various master classes will open to its participants the subtleties of the craft— told in the Museum of Defense of Sevastopol.

The festival will start at 11:00 and will last until late in the evening. For visitors, the already traditional interactive sites «School of Maritime Affairs», «School of Calligraphy», «Soldier’s Bowling» and new ones — «Young Archaeologist» and «Young Heroes of the Crimean War — Children’s Bastion» will be deployed.

In addition, it will be possible to learn how to weave camouflage nets — a special camouflage coating designed to camouflage military equipment, weapons and military installations in open areas and among vegetation.

There will also be a «Letter to a Soldier» campaign: anyone who wishes will be able to write a few lines to the participants of the SVO.

Festival program:

11:00-17:00 — free tours in the Defensive tower of the Kornilov bastion «History of one exhibit». Will run every hour.

11:00-20:00 — interactive sites with the participation of reenactors.

11:00-20:00 — craft quarter.

11:00-19:00 — museum interactive sites and children’s master classes.

14:00-15:00 – grand opening of the festival. It will be held on the square in front of the Defensive Tower of the Kornilov Bastion.

16:00-17:15 — performance «Marine holiday in Sevastopol» from the Sevastopol theater for young spectators. It will be held on the square in front of the Defensive Tower of the Kornilov Bastion.

17:00-18:00 — concert on stage.

18:00-19:00 — concert of the Sevastopol State Symphony Orchestra. It will be held on the square in front of the Defensive Tower of the Kornilov Bastion.

19:00-20:00 — screening of the film «Defense of Sevastopol» in 1911 with musical accompaniment of the Sevastopol Symphony Orchestra and the military band of the Sevastopol Regiment of the National Guard of the Russian Federation. It will be held on the square in front of the Defensive Tower of the Kornilov Bastion.

20:30-20:45 and 21:00-21:15 — video projection of the film on the walls of the Defensive Tower of the Kornilov Bastion.
