Sailing competitions started in Sevastopol

On the basis of the Yug yacht club, interregional sailing competitions have started. They will end on July. From the strongest athletes of the Southern Federal District will be identified, who will then be included in the list of candidates for the national sailing teams of the SFD subjects. Athletes from ten cities participate in the competition — Simferopol, Sochi, Anapa, Novorossiysk, Gelendzhik, Azov, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Volgodonsk, Taganrog and Sevastopol. Almost all Olympic yacht classes are represented, as well as children’s yacht classes.

We have five members of the Russian national team — from Sevastopol. This year, our children successfully performed at the competitions of the association in the class «Optimist» and were selected to the national team in the class «Optimist» — Artem Cherpita and Elizaveta Chiglataya. In August they will represent the Russian sailing team at international competitions.
